5-Week Spring Play Lab Series 🌱
Sundays • April 26 – May 31
April 26, May 3, May 17, May 24, and May 31
Science toddlers can feel.
Squish, scoop, fizz, splash, and discover in a sensory-rich outdoor play lab designed for curious little scientists ages 1.5-4
Cost of the series: $210 for all five Sundays in the Spring Series.
If cost is a barrier, please send a message to hello@brightsparksplaylab.com. We believe sensory science and connection should be accessible to every toddler. Through our partnership with First 5 Santa Clara County and private donations, we are able to offer expanded access to families who need it.
What Your Tiny Scientist Might Explore
🧪 fizzing chemical reactions that bubble and change color
🌈 scooping, pouring, and digging through rich sensory textures
🌱 planting seeds and observing real growth
💧 experimenting with water, flow, and cause-and-effect
Every lab invites toddlers to touch, test, and discover through hands-on science play.
All-Weather Science
Spring Play Lab happens outdoors in sun, clouds, or drizzle. Some labs include nature exploration and water play.
Dress yourself and your little scientist for messy, outdoor, weather-ready play.
If we get lucky with rain, we’ll run a special Rain Lab to explore puddles, water flow, and the original sensory play experience.
Duration: 45–60 minutes
Time: 9:30-10:15 OR 10:45-11:30
Location: Sylvan Park, Mountain View
Choose the time that works best for your family when registering.
Play labs are intentionally small so the toddlers can explore comfortably, build familiarity, and play alongside the same group of little scientists each week.
Spring Play Labs
Sensory-rich STEAM experiments for curious toddlers (1.5–4) and their grown-ups.
Five Sundays of blowing, planting, shaking, squishing, and discovering together.
Sunday, April 12
10-11:00 am
Drop in, explore, and follow your little scientist’s curiosity.
Bright Sparks Open Play Lab is a relaxed, outdoor play experience where toddlers and their caregivers can explore sensory science together.
Instead of a structured class, Open Lab invites families to move freely between hands-on stations designed to spark curiosity and discovery. Little scientists can dig, experiment, listen, and explore at their own pace while caregivers connect with other families in the community.
All play stations are thoughtfully designed by an occupational therapist to support sensory exploration, motor development, and joyful learning through play.
What’s in the Open Play Lab
🍃 Wind Lab
Blow, spin, and send things flying with pinwheels, bubbles, and playful wind experiments.
🌱 Plant Lab
Little hands dig into soil and plant an edible flower to take home and grow.
🥁 Sound Lab
Shake, tap, and experiment with sound. Rhythm discoveries and spontaneous dance parties within the realm of possibilities.
Family, Friends & Neighbors Welcome 🤝
This event is offered in collaboration with and with sponsorship from First 5 Santa Clara, honoring the incredible Family, Friend & Neighbor (FFN) caregiver network. We celebrate all of the grandparents, relatives, neighbors, nannies, teachers, and friends who help care for our tiny scientists.
Bright Sparks believes young children are supported by a village of caregivers, and we love welcoming that village into the lab.
If you’re bringing someone who plays an important caregiving role in your child’s life, we would love to celebrate them.
Each FFN caregiver will receive a small “You’re a Gem” Squish Lab appreciation gift. It is a playful take-home inspired by our sensory labs and a reminder that the people who help raise our tiny scientists truly are gems.
When registering, please share the names and emails of the caregivers joining you so we can prepare gifts and plan our lab setup.
