FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ):

Because parenting comes with enough questions already.

Here are the ones we can actually answer.

WHO IT’S FOR

What ages is Bright Sparks for?

Toddlers and preschoolers ages 1–5, plus their grown-ups.

Can siblings come?

Absolutely.

Lap babies are free. Please register older siblings so we have enough materials for everyone.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Do grown-ups participate?

Yes.

Bright Sparks is designed for children and caregivers to explore together.

Sometimes the adults play harder than our tiny scientists.

What if my toddler just runs in circles?

Perfect. Laps are regulation.

Sometimes children need to move before they are ready to pause, focus, or explore.

We follow child-led play, and sometimes the laps are the science.

Is this just a toddler playgroup?

Nope.

Bright Sparks is occupational therapist-designed, play-based sensory science.

Children build regulation, curiosity, problem-solving, gross motor skills, and fine motor skills while they play.

Do you have any lab rules?

1. Follow your child’s curiosity.

There is no single right way to explore.

Children are welcome to watch, repeat, wander, investigate, or completely ignore the activity we thought would be the exciting one.

2. We don’t eat the science.

Our materials are chosen with young children in mind, but science is still for exploring, not snacking.

Tempting? Sometimes. Still science.

SAFETY + MESS

How do you keep the lab safe?

Activities are designed to be taste-safe and pass the coin test, with no small choking hazards.

We toddler-proof the science so you can relax, connect with other caregivers, and occasionally drink your coffee while it is still warm (or iced in the summer).

What about allergies?

Tell us about allergies when you register.

We are transparent about ingredients and can adapt activities whenever possible.

Will it be messy?

Yes. Mess is part of the magic.

We do our best to contain the joyful chaos so it does not follow you all the way home.

A change of clothes for both you and your little scientist is always a good idea.

WEATHER

What’s the rain plan?

We play in the rain.

Rain is the original sensory play.

We dress for it, splash in it, investigate it, and see what new science it brings to the lab.

Bring rain boots, waterproof layers, and a change of clothes.

We will only cancel, relocate, or adjust the event if conditions are unsafe, such as thunderstorms, high winds, extreme heat, or poor air quality.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring:

  • Washable clothes

  • An extra outfit for your child and possibly yourself

  • Weather-appropriate layers

  • Rain boots and waterproof clothing when rain is expected

  • A small towel or two

  • Snacks and water

We have a few extra picnic blankets and towels. Let us know what would help.

We’ll bring the lab supplies, coffee, and muffins.

PRIVATE GROUPS + PARTIES

Do you offer private events?

Yes.

We host birthday parties, playgroups, school programs, and community events.

We bring the fizz and fun. You bring the cake.

Party packages start at $450.

OUR SAFETY PROMISE

We’ve toddler-proofed the science so you can enjoy the chaos.

STILL HAVE A QUESTION?
